About Us
Allen Bailey formed the company Motorcare Discount ,(as it was known then), in 1984, trading from a modest retail premises on the Brecon Road in Abergavenny and serving primarily those who where happy to dabble in repairing their own vehicles.
By the early 1990's the need for a reliable trade orientated supplier became apparent. This coincided with Justin, Allen's youngest son joining the business after several years in retail management. Allen's eldest son, Simon then joined in 1993 after working for the Civil Service.
It was evident by the mid 1990's that our growth area was as a motor factor, however we maintained our retail customer base with a good range available to the DIY customer and by 1996, with the need to carry greater stocks and the logistics of the growing delivery service to the trade, the company completely outgrew the Brecon Road premises and a new 4,000 sq ft premises were sought at Mill Street Industrial Estate in Abergavenny, which has now grown to over 9000 sq ft due to accomodate the stock required to serve the business.
In February 2010 we opened our Hereford Branch at the Three Mills Trading Estate, off Old School Lane (Old Wire Mill Building) with another 4000sq ft, by the end of that year we had outgrown that premises and had to look for additional storage space on the industrial estate.
In today's climate of rapidly changing automotive technology we aim to give our customers as much information and help as possible and offer Technical & Business Training by leading industry experts in our new training room at our branch in Hereford.
We have a team of over 50 employees who are dedicated to ensuring that our customers have the best possible service. Our sales team alone have over 150 years of automotive experience between them, so know what they are talking about!
